Sveta Plushie

I am back in action. I have been obsessing over time with Golden Sun Dark Dawn and I decided that I must have plushies of some of my favorite characters. Sveta is one of them.

Did quite a bit of experimenting with this one. First off, the yarn hair went very smoothly. I actually was debating what color to use for the hair. In read life the yarn color is blueish purple but it might not show up as well in these photos. There was a lighter purple but I was not sure which color was right at the end. I still think it is a good color though.

Not everything went smoothly. The clothes, if you can see, uses material I never tried before. I wanted to try something different. All it ended up in was quite a bit of frustration. I think I am going back to felt/fleece after this. They are far more easy to manage and looks much better in the finished product.

UPDATE: I just could not stand the material I used for this plushie anymore. A feather could touch her and she would simply fall apart. I wanted a plushie I could play around with, not to just look at. I decided enough is enough and I redid her clothes so that they would be made out of felt. Took me about 10 hours to change everything. I am going to put the older image in the scraps folder if you would like to compare the before and after images.

Also I finally remembered to pose her with my Golden Sun shirt I got from New York Comic Con 2010. They only had the large size, I would have liked something smaller.

Oh yeah I use fleece now. I used fleece for her skin. It is so soft compared to felt.

Other forms of frustration included Camelot's official art of her. You can barely see what her clothes is like. I heavily relied on her battle model and her field model.

Sveta is about 22 inches. The box used as a prop is a display box from Gamestop which the owner allowed me to take.
